From the share sheet
In Photos, share a picture to Target Size and choose a limit, without opening the app. Location and camera data are removed from the result.

- Limits of 250 KB, 500 KB, 1, 2, 5 and 10 MB, or one of your own
- The full resolution is kept whenever the limit allows it. The picture is made smaller only when it does not fit otherwise
- JPEG for compatibility, or HEIC for more detail at the same size
- The app shows the size of the result. A photo that is already below the limit is left as it is
- Location and camera data are removed from the exported picture

Frequently asked questions
The result is larger than the limit I set.
Very small limits cannot always be met; the app says so and shows the smallest size it reached. Try a smaller pixel size.
I bought the upgrade, but it is locked again.
Tap “Restore purchase” on the purchase card in the app. A one-time purchase is tied to your Apple account and does not have to be paid for again.
